Welcome to the NoDak Spud LLCTM

Retro AR Page

ALL FFL ITEMS WILL BE SHIPPED WITH "ADULT SIGNATURE REQUIRED"

We will NOT be doing any custom marking requests on any of the AR lowers.

They will be standard sequential serial #'s only.

Manufacturers will have to engrave their "SBR" info themselves.

In order to help you decide what "Retro" model you want to build, and what lower and upper receiver is appropriate, please go to www.retroblackrifle.com

Due to the difficulty in transforming "A2" forgings into "Retro" lowers, we have invested in several new, dedicated "Retro" style forging tools.

This required substantial time and money to tool up for, but in the end, was well worth the effort.

All NoDak SpudTM "Retro" lowers are made from these forgings.

We know you will be very pleased with the finished products.

Thanks, Mike and Harlan

The NDS-16A1 "Retro" lower receiver

Ready for you to build that Viet Nam era gun you (or your Dad) carried back in the 60's and early 70's.

Material is 7075 T6

The anodizing is done by Victor @ US Anodizing in his "XM" gray.

Color on the surplus uppers will vary, but we try to match it as best we can.

NDS-16A1 receiver

qty 1  $160 shipped

2-5   $155 ea.

6-20 $150 ea.

Status: UPDATE 5/8/09

We have started sending parts out for anodizing.

We plan on having a larger number of anodized A1's ready BEFORE we open it up for orders.

Please do not send in any orders until we say they are available.

We have lowered the text on the magwell so you can have your "replica" markings engraved by Orion Arms (or others). I would recommend you get one "in the white" if you are going to have it engraved.

Black "A1" Lowers

We have had some requests from customers that have  Retro builds with black anodized uppers (such as the "C7" type) and they don't want to have them re-anodized gray because of the added expense.

These are our standard NDS-16A1 lowers, just done in a Type 3 black hardcoat.

Material is 7075 T6

The NDS-XM16E1 "Retro" lower receiver

This is the version used "pre-adoption" in Viet Nam. After the Army fielded some XM16E1's, they decided to adopt it as the M16A1 (with some improvements).

Please notice the roll-pin hole on the back end. It is sized to take a 3/32 roll pin just like the original.

But, unlike the originals, it DOES NOT intersect the buffer tube by cutting through the threads. I felt that was unnecessary, and could cause more problems than good.

Material is 7075 T6

The anodizing is done by Victor @ US Anodizing in his "XM" gray.

NDS-XM16E1 receiver

There will be finished anodized parts available sometime in July.

The NDS-601 "Retro" lower receiver

This receiver is made so you can replicate the super early "slick side" M16 type rifles first sent to Viet Nam under Project "Agile".

Also good for making up an Air Force "refurb" rifle or carbine.

Material is 7075 T6

The anodizing is done by Victor @ US Anodizing in his "XM" gray.

This receiver requires the special front pin Part# NDS-31 sold below.

It also requires that your upper receiver has a countersunk front pivot pin hole (left side) to interface with the ball detent.

NDS-35 Carbine length triangular handguards

Manufactured by Tony's Custom Uppers, these high quality "A1" style handguards give your carbine a distinctive "Retro" flavor.

They require installation of a rifle style triangular cap (.750" barrel diameter version included) on your carbine barrel.

This necessitates removing your front sight base.

NDS-32 "trigger charging handle" upper receiver

This our version of the super early experimental model that was never produced.

It will not be an "exact" replica because I have changed the design of the latch which holds the charging handle in the forward position.

The "original style" proved to be unreliable, so we came up with a different design.

The anodizing is done by Victor @ US Anodizing in his "XM" gray.

Included is the stripped upper and charging handle only.

Part # NDS-32

Price:  $250 shipped

  "Blem" Lowers/Uppers

From time to time, we have "blem" AR lowers or uppers available. They are usually cosmetic issues due to  forging flaws or un-even anodizing.

These parts are fully functional, and offer the thrifty customer a way to save some money on his build project.

All "blem" lowers will have a letter "B" stamped on both sides of the pistol grip area.

This stamping is done AFTER anodizing, and may chip the finish where stamped. However, this is covered by the pistol grip, and therefore, not visible.

Uppers will not be stamped with a "B", as there is no good place to do it.

"Blem" Lower Receiver Prices:

NDS-16A1B          $130 shipped    status: sold out

NDS-XM16E1B     $150 shipped    status: sold out

NDS-601B             $150 shipped    status: sold out

"Blem" Upper Receiver Prices:

NDS-32B               $220 shipped    status: 2 available

NDS-603B             $130 shipped    status: sold out

NDS-604B             $130 shipped    status: sold out

DO NOT send in an order for a "blem" product without calling Mike to put one on hold. 952-942-1909

Do not email us for blems. Phone calls direct to Mike have priority. (voice mail does not count)

There are NO FURTHER DISCOUNTS on "blem" lowers or uppers, and they cannot be combined with other products for quantity pricing.

Products from "Heatnbeat"

In the spirit of advancing our "Retro" AR hobby, we at NDSTM  are going to highlight some products from Jerrell Sharp (aka "Heatnbeat"). These parts can be some of the most difficult to find originals of, and so he has made some very nice reproductions.

We do not stock these parts, nor will we have any info about them if you call NoDak SpudTM .

Please direct all questions directly to Jerrel Sharp at:

Products from "45 Bravo"

The nicest reproduction flash hiders for "retro" rifles are made by Pat Medders.

I have some of the 601 "duckbill" 3-prong versions, and they are sweet.

He also does barrel work on AR's, so if you need an XM177 done, drop him a line.
