We are cleaning out some old 6061 T6 forgings that were culled out from the very first production run on our die.

These were not machined at the time because of small forging flaws on the surface.

They were set aside, and after we switched to 7075 for everything we decide to not mix them in with the new stuff.

Most only have 2-3 dings, but some have more.

The location and severity of the forging flaws will vary. There will be NO HAND PICKS.

A WORD ABOUT THE FIT OF OUR LOWER RECEIVERS:

OUR LOWERS ARE MACHINED IN SUCH A WAY THAT THEY HAVE A TIGHTER FIT TO MOST UPPERS.

WE RUN ON THE HIGH SIDE OF THE TOLERANCE,  WE DID THIS ON PURPOSE.

99% OF THE TIME IT RESULTS IN A GREAT FIT WITH NO WIGGLE BETWEEN THE UPPER AND LOWER.

 SOMETIMES THIS MAY CAUSE PROBLEMS WITH SOME SURPLUS UPPERS OUT THERE.

IF YOU ARE CONCERNED THAT THIS MAY BE AN ISSUE FOR YOU, PLEASE PURCHASE ONE OF OUR RETRO UPPERS AT THE SAME TIME, AND WE WILL HAND SELECT THEM FOR FIT AT NO EXTRA CHARGE.

The NDS-16A1 "Retro" lower receiver

Ready for you to build that Viet Nam era gun you (or your Dad) carried back in the 60's and early 70's.

Material is 7075 T6

The anodizing is done by Victor @ US Anodizing in his "XM" gray.

Color on the surplus uppers will vary, but we try to match it as best we can.

Black "A1" Lowers

We have had some requests from customers that have  Retro builds with black anodized uppers (such as the "C7" type) and they don't want to have them re-anodized gray because of the added expense.

These are our standard NDS-16A1 lowers, just done in a Type 3 black hardcoat.

The NDS-XM16E1 "Retro" lower receiver

This is the version used "pre-adoption" in Viet Nam. After the Army fielded some XM16E1's, they decided to adopt it as the M16A1 (with some improvements).

Please notice the roll-pin hole on the back end. It is sized to take a 3/32 roll pin just like the original.

But, unlike the originals, it DOES NOT intersect the buffer tube by cutting through the threads. I felt that was unnecessary, and could cause more problems than good.

NDS-XM16E1 receiver

The NDS-601 "Retro" lower receiver

This receiver is made so you can replicate the super early "slick side" M16 type rifles first sent to Viet Nam under Project "Agile".

Also good for making up an Air Force "refurb" rifle or carbine.

Material is 7075 T6

The anodizing is done by Victor @ US Anodizing in his "XM" gray.

This receiver requires the special front pin Part# NDS-31 sold below.

It also requires that your upper receiver has a countersunk front pivot pin hole (left side) to interface with the ball detent.

2-position CAR buffer tube

Machined from 7075 T6 and finished with "XM" gray Type 3 Hardcoat anodizing. This was one of the hardest parts to find for a proper retro carbine build until now.

Ours are stamped with an "N" to distinguish them from an original.

NDS-45 buffer tube

Machined from 6061 T6 bar stock and finished with "XM" gray Type 3 Hardcoat anodizing. This charging handle is one of the finishing touches for a proper "601" retro build.

This is a picture of one of our prototypes, finished parts will be engraved on the bottom flat with "NDS" to distinguish these from the highly collectable originals.

NDS-WM "Waffle Mag"

This our version of the super early 20 round magazine that was discontinued. The Army ordered them to be destroyed, as thus, originals are few and far between.

When found, they command extremely high prices ($200-$400)

Unlike the original which was stainless steel, ours is made from high carbon steel, fully heat treated, and Parkerized.

To avoid confusing our reproduction mags with an original we have marked the rear of the body with a single letter "N", and marked the floorplates with our company info.

Included is the mag body and floorplate only. Followers and springs are available from many sources such as;

Brownells, John Masen, and others.

NDS-32 "trigger charging handle" upper receiver

This our version of the super early experimental model that was never produced.

It will not be an "exact" replica because I have changed the design of the latch which holds the charging handle in the forward position.

The "original style" proved to be unreliable, so we came up with a different design.

The anodizing is done by Victor @ US Anodizing in his "XM" gray.

Included is the stripped upper and charging handle only.

This is a true "A1" type without the case deflector.

This is also the correct type of upper for most of the "Retro" carbine builds you might want to do.

For and additional $10 per part, Mike will hand polish an upper or lower to look like it has;

This is on top of the cost of the NDS receiver you are ordering.

We can do it on any parts, but prefer to do it on our "blems", call in for current availability.

From time to time, we have "blem" AR lowers available. They are usually cosmetic issues due to  forging flaws or un-even anodizing. Occasionally it is a machining error.

Sometimes it's a combination of things.

These parts are fully functional, and offer the thrifty customer a way to save some money on his build project.

All "blem" lowers will have a letter "B" stamped on the side of the pistol grip area.

This stamping is done AFTER anodizing, and may chip the finish where stamped. However, this is covered by the pistol grip, and therefore, not visible.
